Y

I must give the credit of the topic of this post to "The Salmon of Doubt", the book I'm currently reading. It's a compilation of unfinished and/or short articles of the deceased Douglas Adams, author of the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. Yes. You read that right. There are 5 books in this trilogy by the way. Anyway, Adams mentioned a good point. 'Why' was the only question infuriating and difficult to answer enough that it got a WHOLE letter in the alphabet. He mentioned that it does not go "A, B, C, D, E, F, Who?, When?, Where?" but "U, V, W, X, Why?, Z." You see, other questions are very easy to answer, such as "How long is the flight to Europe?" or "What is the value of "x"?" and "How does the seatbelt get so tight when you slam on the brakes, Daddy?" The answers, respectively, would be "1 night and 3 hours", "figure it out", and "don't ask stupid questions, James". But what happens when one asks you: "Why am I alive?" or "Why are we not dead yet?" and so on, you're stuck aren't you? You have to think about the question for hours, and when you decide you have an answer, you start to question your own thoughts, and you spend more hours mulling over your very exsistence. But wait!!! Adams mentioned a very good answer. The only good answer to these questions. There's even room for it in the alphabet. And Why doesn't even have to be the last letter. Wouldn't it be nice if the alphabet went "U, V, W, X, "Why not?" " instead? So, why not?

Wow, you haven't posted anything in about half a month. But I must say, I never realized it the power of "why". But some "why" questions are really easy too, like "Why do we eat", or "why am I doing this", we'll get answers like "because we have to live" or "because I feel like it. And obviously the answer to "why do we live" and "why are we not dead yet" are "because God wanted us to" and "because God doesn't want us to...yet."
